Carjacker speaks out, says he was desperate

WTVG--April 30, 2007 - A man accused of carjacking an Ohio lawyer says he was desperate but not dangerous. Martino Williamson admitted to carjacking the lawyer after nabbing his wallet and forcing him into the trunk of his car. He says he was even going to drive the victim back where he found him after he emptied his checking account. Williamson says he is not a violent man and would not hurt his victim.

"I was just walking thru the neighborhood, see him standing there, saw an opportunity and decided to take it. It's desperate out here."

The victim still had a cell phone and called 911 from inside the trunk. Police quickly caught Williamson before he got his hands on any cash. .

Former lacrosse coaches appear in court on sexual assault charges

MEMPHIS, Tenn. Two former high school coaches from Ohio charged with sexually assaulting a player were given more time today in Memphis to review prosecution evidence against them.

Dustin Pentz and Gregory Simpson made a brief appearance in Criminal Court and were told to return for a status conference on June 5th.

The two are free on 50-thousand dollars bond each on charges of aggravated rape and assault against a male student while in Memphis last year for a lacrosse tournament.

The former lacrosse player told police in Dublin, Ohio, that he was accosted on the chartered bus in Memphis and held down.

Pentz and Simpson have been fired by Dublin Coffman High School.

Defense lawyers have described the incident aboard the bus as "horseplay."
